FAQ Advertiser - Reklameplass.com

Advertiser’s Frequently Asked Questions

Getting Started

How do I get started?

Reklameplass makes purchasing Text Ads simple and convenient for advertisers. Our Site Directory lists the various websites available on which to advertise. You can sort the websites by several different methods including Alexa ranking, Cost per Week, Average Clicks per Week and more. After selecting your site(s), you can enter text for your advertisement and you’re set.
[top]

When will my ad start running?

Your ad will run as soon as the payment has been received by Reklameplass. This is normally within 10-20 minutes of the advertiser paying for the ad.
[top]

Why can’t I see my ad?

If you do not see your ad displayed on a particular site, either Reklameplass or the publisher may have denied the ad. You will receive an email that may be filtered as spam if this occurs. If your ad has been accepted but is still not displayed, it may be circulating in the publisher’s Ad Pool and will be displayed in rotation every few minutes.
[top]

Which sites should I advertise on?

If you know the demographic of your target customer, you can forecast what type of sites the customer is more likely to visit. By clicking on a specific category in the Site Directory, you can view all the sites that match your needs.
[top]

What information will I receive about the performance of my ad?

By logging into your account, you will have access to detailed statistics about the number of clicks your ad has generated per day.
[top]

What are my payment options?

Currently, Reklameplass accepts payments through credit card or Paypal, and wire transfer for larger amounts. Accounts with good standing can request credit and net payment.

[top]

Does Reklameplass monitor click fraud?

Yes, Reklameplass takes click fraud very seriously. Members of the Reklameplass staff monitor click fraud closely and expel any fraudulent clicks. These clicks will not affect your statistics. Publishers that practice click fraud are ban from the network.
[top]

Does Reklameplass sell banners?

Yes, at this time we offer Banner Ads.
[top]

Does Reklameplass do geotargeting?

Yes, Reklameplass now offers Geo-Targeting. This feature is called "Targeted CPC (RON) ads" in our network. You can target your campaign by region and site category.
[top]

What rating should I select for my Ad?

We have three ad ratings: general, teen, and adult. The general rating is for ads that are acceptable to all ages including children. The teen rating is for ads that would not be acceptable to children younger than 13. This rating prevents exposure to gambling or pornographic material. The adult rating is for ads that are only acceptable to adults, for example adult dating, adult movies or adult pictures.
[top]

How does the rating effect where the ad is shown?

If the general rating is selected the ad will only be shown on all the non-adult sites. If the teen rating is selected the Targeted CPC (RON) ad will run on all sites in the Reklameplass Publisher Network (i.e. non-adult and adult sites). If the adult rating is selected the Targeted CPC (RON) ad will only run on the adult sites in the network. To see a list of all sites by classification click on the "Buy Ads" tab and browse the Site Directory.

Ad Packages

What is an Ad Package?

An Ad Package is a group of websites that Reklameplass has selected based on a specific set of rules. Reklameplass has created packages so that advertisers can quickly find a group of sites that have similar characteristics and write a single ad that will be displayed on all the selected Ad Package sites.

How does Reklameplass select sites for each of the Ad Packages?

For all Ad Packages, no sites have;
1. an Average Clicks per Week per Ad of less than 10, or
2. an average Cost per Click that is greater than 25 cents, or
3. a price for a week long ad that is more than one third of the target cost of the Ad Package (this ensures that the Ad Package has more than one ad).
In addition to these rules, each Ad Package has a unique set of criteria that are used to select the sites that are included. The criterion is outlined below for each Ad Package.

Available Ad Packages

Highest Average Clicks Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the highest Average Clicks per Week per Ad. Sites are added to the Ad Package until the target price has been reached.

Lowest Cost per Click Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the lowest Cost per Click. Sites are added to the Ad Package until the target price has been reached.

Highest Repurchase Rate Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the Highest Repurchase Rate. Sites are added to the Ad Package until the target price has been reached. Included sites have a Repurchase Rate of 30% or greater.

Best Alexa Rank Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the Best Alexa Rank. Sites are added to the Ad Package until the target price has been reached.

Highest Traffic From English Speaking Countries Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the highest percent of traffic from countries where the native language is predominately English. These countries are the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. All included sites have 40% or more English speaking traffic.

Highest US Traffic Package

These sites are selected by searching the directory for the sites that have the highest percentage of traffic from the USA. All sites included have 40% or more US traffic.

What is Availability?

Some sites have sold all the ad space that they presently have available. If the "Any Site" option is selected, then all sites are potentially included in the Ad Package and ads will start running as soon as the site has ad space available. If the "Sites with available space today" option is selected, then only sites with ad space available today are included in the Ad Packages.

If I have an issue with the packages, or an idea on how to improve it, what should I do?

Send Reklameplass an email at Contact and we will try to resolve the issue and we may implement your idea.

Targeted Cost Per Click (RON) Ads

Why choose a Targeted CPC (RON) ad?

Reklameplass offers two types of ads: a sponsored link which runs for a period of time on a single site priced in dollars per week, and a Targeted CPC (RON) ad that runs on many sites priced in cents per valid RON click.

A sponsored link has the advantage of allowing an advertiser to target the visitors to a single site and the disadvantage of only having historic information to predict how many times the ad will be clicked.

A Targeted CPC (RON) ad has the advantage of allowing an advertiser to know exactly what the cost per valid click will be and the disadvantage of not knowing from which site the valid click will originate.

Reklameplass recommends Targeted CPC (RON) ads when an advertiser wants to:

  • Know the Cost Per Click before running the ad;
  • Promote a site across a large number of sites without buying an ad on each site;
  • Promote a product that has a low Click Through Rate (CTR) (e.g. Poker ads);

  • [top]

    What defines a Valid RON Click?

    Reklameplass defines a Valid RON Click in a different way from many other ad serving companies. We define a Valid Click as having to come from North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand. We do not count double clicks, clicks made by "bots" or other fraudulent clicks.

    As a result, if a Targeted CPC (RON) ad gets a non-fraudulent click from a country outside the list above it is not counted towards the total number of clicks purchased. In some cases Targeted CPC (RON) ads get a large number of these free clicks due to high traffic from countries other than those listed above.
    [top]

    Where will my ad be shown?

    Your Targeted CPC (RON) ad will appear on all or some of the sites on the Reklameplass Publisher Network. You select which part of the network the ad runs on by choosing the rating of your ad.
    [top]

    What Targeted CPC (RON) ad content restrictions exist?

    Reklameplass reviews all Targeted CPC (RON) ads before they are displayed on the network. We will not approve a Targeted CPC (RON) ad if (1) the site that the ad is linking to is illegal, (2) the site the ad is linking to endorses "get paid to click" or "get paid to read" type offers and (3) if you use all capitals in your text description. If the Targeted CPC (RON) ad has been given the wrong rating we will change the rating and approve the ad.
    [top]

    When will my Targeted CPC (RON) ad begin to be displayed?

    Your Targeted CPC (RON) ad will be displayed as soon as it has been approved by us. Reklameplass staff reviews all the Targeted CPC (RON) ads within a maximum period of 24 hours from the time of purchase. If the ad is purchased during our working hours, the ad is often approved within minutes of the purchase.
    [top]

    Can I delay the start of my Targeted Cost Per Click (RON) ad campaign?

    When you purchase a Targeted CPC (RON) ad you are given the option to either start the campaign immediately or at the beginning of any day. The time zone that Reklameplass uses to define the start of a day is Eastern Standard Time in the Norway. This is the time zone that Oslo city is located within.
    [top]

    How long will my Targeted CPC (RON) Ad run for?

    The period of time that the Targeted CPC (RON) ad will for depends on:

  • The number of clicks purchased;
  • The compelling nature of the product being offered and the resulting Click Through Ratio (CTR);
  • The number of Targeted CPC (RON) ads running on the Publisher Network at that point in time;
  • The number of page views occurring on the sites where the Targeted CPC (RON) ad is running.

  • [top]

    What do I have to do to buy a Targeted CPC (RON) ad?

    Click on the "Buy a Targeted CPC (RON) Ad Now >" link below, complete the user information and then design the ad. The whole process only takes a couple of minutes.

    Ad Ratings

    What are the available ad ratings?

    Advertisers can rate their ads as "Everyone" for ads acceptable to all ages including children, "Teen" for ads only appropriate for online users over 13 years of age, or "Adult" for ads only acceptable for adults.
    [top]

    How will an ad’s rating affect where the ad is shown?

    An ad is only displayed on publisher sites that accept the ad’s particular rating. For example, if an advertiser’s ad has an "Adult, or Adult only rating, the ad will not be accepted or displayed on publisher sites that only allow "General and "Teen rated ads.
    [top]

    How do I find sites that accept my ad’s rating?

    When an advertiser is determining the rating of an ad they should take into account both the words and possibly image that make up that ad and the website that the ad links to. The definitions we have created are similar to those used by the video game industry and are as follows:

    Everyone

    Ad and linked website content may be suitable for persons ages 6 and older. May contain minimal violence and some comic mischief or crude language.

    Teen

    Ad and linked website content may be suitable for persons ages 13 and older. No nudity or explicit sexual content. May contain violent content, mild or strong language, and/or suggestive themes.

    Adult

    Ad and linked website content suitable only for adults. May include graphic depictions of nudity, sex and/or violence. Not intended for persons under the age of 18.

    [top]

    How will an ad’s rating affect where the ad is shown?

    An ad is only displayed on publisher sites that accept the ad’s particular rating. For example, if an advertiser’s ad has an "Adult" rating, the ad will not be accepted or displayed on publisher sites that only allow "Everyone" and "Teen" rated ads.
    [top]

    Everyone ads will be displayed on all sites in the network that accept "Everyone" rated ads, teen ads will be displayed on all sites that accept "Teen" rated ads, and adult ads will only be displayed on sites that accept "Adult" rated ads.

    Why do I need to rate my ads?

    Advertisers need to rate their ads to prevent any inappropriate content exposure to younger online users.
    [top]

    Can I change an ad’s rating if or when the content of my ad changes?

    Yes, advertisers can change an ad’s rating at any time. However, all ad rating changes must be reviewed and approved by Reklameplass.

    [top]

    Site Directory

    How does Reklameplass order the sites in the Site Directory?

    By default, we rank the sites by the number of clicks that an average ad has received on that site. However, it is very easy to reorder the Site Directory.
    [top]

    How do I reorder the Site Directory?

    By clicking on the links titled "Cost/Week," "Avg. Clicks/Week/Ad," "Repurchase Rate," "Avg. CPC," or "Alexa Ranking" at the top of the column, the Site Directory is ordered by that particular metric.
    [top]

    Why does Reklameplass have a star system for the websites?

    Reklameplass believes that ranking the sites on various criteria from zero to five stars helps potential advertisers quickly find the best websites for them to buy ads on. Each advertiser has unique needs and the criteria they will use to determine the best website for them will vary.
    [top]

    What factors are given stars?

    Reklameplass awards stars for four criteria. The four criteria are (1) Average Clicks per Week per Ad,(2) Repurchase Rate, (3) Average Cost per Click (CPC) and (4) the Alexa Rank.
    [top]

    How does Reklameplass decide how many stars to award a site?

    In general, we award the top few percent of sites with five stars; more sites have four stars and so on. A site is awarded no stars if it fails to meet certain basic criteria, e.g. if the site does not have an Alexa Rank.
